Harry’s Youth Theatre is a non profit trust run by volunteers fondly known as Harrys Angels.  We are continuing to raise funds with a group of parents called “Harry’s Helpers” and this month there has been a variety of different events ….

Monday 4th November was the first draw of our 100 Club with #8 – Spencer Williams winning £25 – well done Spencer! In case you don’t know our 100 Club is an easy to way for you to be in with a chance to win £25 each month. All you have to do is pay £1 per month (min of 6 months) and you will be allocated a number. Each month a number will be drawn out of the hat and the winner will win £25, the remaining funds will go into our Shrek Fundraising Pot. If you haven’t got your number then get in touch and we can sort it out for you.

On Saturday 16th November, Harry’s Helper Tracey Crawshaw organised and hosted our Langland Golf Club Fundraiser.  A group of Seniors did an amazing job of entertaining a sold out event, singing a variety of group numbers, duets and solos.  With a glass of prosecco – courtesy of the Stewardess Ann Morgans – and a fab raffle – this amazing event helped to raise £1200 towards the Shrek Fundraising pot.  Very well done to Tracey and all who took part.

On Sunday 17th November, 3 of our lovely Harry’s Helpers, Amanda, Donna and Donna joined together to run a Car Boot Sale on behalf of Harry’s.  They collected – Toys/Games/Bric a Brac/Dvds and other items from Harry’s members and then sold them with a fab £172 going to our Shrek Fundraising Pot.  A very big thank you to you ladies for all your hardwork.

On Thursday 21st November, a group of Harry’s Seniors attended the Mumbles Christmas Lights Switching On parade and took to the main stage for 2 slots of singing and promoting Harry’s and Shrek The Musical.  The weather was not kind but despite the rain they performed well and did us proud.

This Saturday 30th November there was more singing and promoting of Harry’s and Shrek The Musical, this time in the Etsy Local Winter Fair in the Patti Pavilion, Swansea.  In this beautiful venue the group sang a variety of group numbers and soloists Phoebe Preece and Dan Stockton added a bit of Christmas cheer as they sang Silent Night and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, which brought a tear to many of the audiences eyes.  Again you did us proud and really appreciate you giving up your Saturday lunch to sing.

This is what some of our previous members said about their time at Harry’s Youth Theatre…

“I started at Harry’s when the group was first established many years ago and had the absolute pleasure of being in many company productions throughout the years. I played ‘Tyrone’ in the first production of Fame opposite the lovely Rosie! I never considered dance as one of my strong points but under the direction of Kath and some assistance (lots of assistance) from Rosie, we managed to achieve what we set out to do. My last production was WWRY before I went to drama college and I can honestly say looking back at my time at Harry’s it was one of the most amazing times of my life and have made many lifelong friends from my time there. All the best for the forthcoming production, I know it’s gonna be just as “faaaabulous” (as Kath would say) as every one so far!! Break a leg everyone!!! Love Gary”
